My Thoughts On 'Kill It' After I Finished Watching It

Kill It is a 12 episode (or 24 if you cut it down by half-hour episodes) of a crime thriller. I can't say it's got everything I want in a show but almost everything anyway. Good plot and content? Check! Beautiful actress? Check! Though the second one is just a bonus considering that some of my favorite K-Dramas don't have an attractive actress such as  Still 17. I've finished the show for the worth of 12 episodes at one hour each and here are my thoughts. I would say that for a show that's not for children (I heard it's really rated 17+) - I'm glad we don't have torture scenes. Personally, I can handle the gore in movies like  Naked Weapon  (which for me was sub-par) or  Dragon Squad  (which thankfully didn't put the ear mutilation part on close) but I just don't like extremely focused torture scenes such as mutilation and flaying. Why do you think I haven't reviewed  Killers  here?   The amount of blood here is tolerable like in the  Dar...

Kamen Rider 01 Episodes 28-29 - ZAIA Takes Over

Things are really going from bad to worse, right? Well, it's the conclusion of the rather lengthy (ten episodes total) of the competition between ZAIA and Hiden. Yup, Gai Amatsu is one cunning villain. Spoilers: ZAIA doesn't make it! A new revolution against HumaGears is done by a politician wearing ZAIA Specs. Politician aspirant Masamitsu Yudo is now voicing out against HumaGears. The aim of ZAIA Specs is to allow humans to operate ten times more than normal. Yudo's concern has been that HumaGears are "stealing" human jobs rather than seeing mutual cooperation. Things don't really look good and it's too predictable how the competition ZAIA and Hiden will go. Aruto does become so reckless in this situation. However, he lost some of the competition rather than sacrifice his morals. The HumaGear MC Check It Out is now the latest flaw. What's with the five-parter dealing with HumaGears turning berserk anyway? MC Check It Out starts out as a...

Currently Watching 'Kill It' (2019)

Watching Ang Probinsyano or The Provincial ? Well, no thanks! There's something about the digital age when there are streaming sites available such as Kiss Asian. Hopefully, Kill It will be on Netflix which would be cool - it's because some fansubs are just pretty stupid! I just remembered when I made a facial comparison between Korean actress Jin A Nana (also known as Im Jin Ah) to Filipino actress Shaina Magdayao . Just looking at Shaina as Roxanne Opena in Ang Probinsyano is laughable as Coconuts Martin trying to become the late Fernando Poe Jr.'s character. Well, in Kill It -  you might as well kill it. You can consider Nana's character Do Hyun-Jin to be rather badass. Like she may be beautiful to look at but she's mighty dangerous to hold. TBH, I'd be mighty insane if I would try to molest her. One wrong move and I could be sent to the Intensive Care Unit. I have to admit that while she can be a stupid reason to watch the show. However, her acting wil...

Kamen Rider 01 Episodes 26-27 - Fighting The Fires Of Arrogance And Prejudice

Well, this is another of those combined episode reviews, right? I would like to comment the competition between Hiden and ZAIA seems to have gone "forever" IMHO. Maybe, Toei has a good reason for letting it be that way. Maybe, they want to expand on how Gai should be as a corrupt capitalist while Aruto is the good capitalist. Lives have been in danger more often than not in the competitions. Lives are really getting at stake since the HumaGear lawyer vs. ZAIA Specs lawyer arc . Now, it's a firefighting one. Granted, it's fire prevention month in the Philippines so I think the timing has NEVER been so perfect, right? Conflict of interest now builds up. Gai continues to show he's such a sleaze who'd do anything for power. The two contestants are Fireman Takeshi Homura who uses ZAIA Specs and the HumaGear fireman 119-Nosuke. How both view their employees would show itself. Gai wants to win so badly that he orders Yua to hand over the Raid Riser to her. Th...

Wishful Casting: Tuoba Yu In 'Princess Weiyang'

While watching Princess Weiyang - I really got into a discussion with people who think Vanness Wu did well as Tuoba Yu. However, having never been a huge fan of Vanness Wu - I could be biased here. While he's impressive in his role as a villain - I always had a better opinion of Jerry Yan. Jerry did play as the rival gangster Michael Lee in the Lupin III movie from Japan. My opinion? Jerry himself should've been Yu instead of Vanness! Who could remember Jerry's character as Tsukasa Doumyoji or Daoming Si(Ah Si) in Meteor Garden ? For me, the guy overshadowed every other Tsuakasa after him such as Dylan Wang, Lee Min Ho, and Jun Matsumoto. Who can remember the intimidating face Jerry makes before he started to change for the better? Just remember, Ah Si is hero, villain, victor, and victim rolled into one package. Ah Si is an anti-hero of sorts but started out pretty villainous for a couple of episodes. Royal brat? Check! Good actor? Check! That's why no matter ho...

Kamen Rider 01 Episode 25 - A History Lesson Episode

There's a bit of an intermission episode that came in-between the challenges. It just reminds me Kamen Rider Kuuga also did a similar thing with an interesting recap episode. This time, much of the lore of Kamen Rider Zero-One has been unfolded. Please note that I'm not going to write about the firefighter arc until it's done and that I'm already pursuing other new stuff. Though, I'm enjoying new school Kamen Rider more than I'm enjoying new school Super Sentai.  There's really some weird things going on. So why is Izu a robot suddenly feeling sick and hot? I guess that's the next step of the HumaGear development. There's also a physician droid known as Dr. Bot - one who was responsible for the development of HumaGears. This would start to revela a lot of important lore from the show. What's better is that Isamu himself is really involved as was traumatized by the DayBreak Incident. We get a recap of 12 years ago. Aruto's "fathe...

Trying To Finish 'Crash Landing On You'

I don't deny that Crash Landing on You is addicting but it doesn't give the same level of addiction (at least for me) than the Wuxia TV drama Princess Weiyang . So, everything starts with a South Korean businessman surviving a tornado and lands on North Korea (I heard such an incident could happen) and an unusual love story begins. Se Ri and the North Korean officer Jung Hyuk begins. It's not entirely instant and things can get unusual. There's a few comical moments but it's well-balanced with seriousness.  Just seeing the part where Se Ri returns home to South Korea and the North Korean soldiers entering there can teach some life lessons. Se Ri herself learns not to take the fruits of capitalism for granted and she becomes a better boss. Meanwhile, the North Korean soldiers that accompany Jung Hyuk start to see the fruits of capitalism yet they're still ignorant as to why the South is better. Seeing them enjoy the fruits of capitalism for the first time ...

Wishful Casting: Seo Dan In 'Crash Landing On You'

While watching Crash Landing on You - I was having some fun poking at the hypocrisy of the North Korean elite. Yes, communism is not an effective measure when you think about it unless you're the one in power. You've got the spoiled heiress of a state-owned department store known as Seo Dan. I thought the actress was kinda overaged or what? Just hearing her go to Switzerland reminded me Sarah Elago went to Switzerland. Then I've got the actress I wish to play Seo Dan.  Yup, it's Shin Hye Sun. She's got facial resemblances to Elago except she's got better skin quality than the latter. Hearing of her role in Legend of the Blue Sea and Angel's Last Mission made me wonder why in the world wasn't she picked for the role of Seo Dan? The series itself was already making fun of communism and why it only benefits those in power. I think Shin herself could've portrayed the general's feisty and spoiled niece who studied in Switzerland. Then the char...

Just Started Watching The K-Drama That Filipinos Are Currently Crazy About Namely 'Crash Landing On You'

Well, I didn't think I would have immediately picked Crash Landing on You  due to the lack of eye candy. Then again, Princess Weiyang itself didn't have that much eye candy but it was magnetizing because it's a good (but I heard loose) adaptation of the novel The Poisonous Daughter . Now, it would be time to tackle on a series I wanted to put aside but the final episodes of Kishinryu Sentai Ryusoulger hasn't been too pleasing so I decided to continue watching this! So, how's the TV series? I didn't begin watching last year because I was focused on other stuff and I usually get picky about anything whether it's old or new. What sparked my curiosity is why are Filipinos getting so much hype from the show before it's crap-dubbed into Tagalog? The story somewhat rips off straight from Frank L. Baum's The Wizard of Oz  where Se-Ri a South Korean heiress lands into North Korea after a tornado incident. She falls into a foreign land and she wants to ret...
