Mr. Lawyering With Choi Jin Hyuk In "Pride And Prejudice" And "Justice"

Image
I could think about watching Choi Jin Hyuk in two realistic legal dramas. Yes, I'm NOT going to talk about Tunnel here which was a sci-fi one. Instead, it would be the two series which portrayed him as a lawyer in two different situations. One was the heroic prosecutor lawyer in Pride and Prejudice while the other was anti-hero lawyer in Justice . Both presents a different side of a coin and presented him as a lawyer. Pride and Prejudice was focused on trying to mix prosecution and romantic stories - something similar to Suspicious Partner a few years later. The bickering couple focuses on Jin Hyuk's role alongside Bae Jin Hee as Goo Dong Chi and Han Yeol Moo. Yeol Moo is the on/off love interest of Dong Chi. Yeol Moo is wondering if her brother ever survived the crime that happened in the past. Dong Chi had a traumatic incident that made him give up medical school in favor of becoming a state prosecutor instead. The interactions had occasional comedy while they dug through c...

Choi Jin Hyuk: My Thoughts On "Justice" VS. "Rugal"

Image
Choi Jin Hyuk has been starring in two shows. One from KBS' Justic e and there's OCN's Rugal . Both series have Jin Hyuk in them as the leading cast. Each one of them are played differently and I think the strength of one reveals the weakness of the other. After doing some readings from Dramabeans - it does reveal that the finale of Rugal  itself may leave a lot to be desired . I just think that writer using the pen name  missvictrix  has a different opinion than mine. Maybe, it's because Rugal does seem to remind me of Toshiki Inoue and Yasuko Kobayashi in their writing styles. Then I thought of Jin Hyuk's first series that I've watched from start to end namely Justice . IMHO, Justice actually did better than Rugal . Though Rugal is a sci-fi series with some potential but was hampered. So why am I saying Justice is better implemented than Rugal ? Justice did have some weird stuff going on but the stories are somehow more focused. Not too many plot twists and...

Just Finished Watching 'Justice' Legal Korean Drama Series

Image
Soompi So, surprise surprise that I didn't notify that I was watching Justice huh? The legal K-Drama features a lot of good stuff. I was finished with Kill It which was pretty okay except for the sad ending. At least, Kill It owned the rather pointless Filipino drama Ang Probinsyano by several miles. The series Justice itself is pretty much a web of conspiracies. The plot involves an entertainment company and missing girls. There's much of the past and the present colliding. The main protagonist Lee Tae Kyung (Choi Jin Hyuk) is an anti-hero. Tae Kyung's past is shrouded by dirty secrets which he wants to pay for it later on. Tae Kyung's relationship with Prosecutor Seo Yeon Ah (Jin A Nana) was tainted due to his bad choices while he sought to avenge his late brother. Director Joo Wong must've been pleased with Nana's performance in  Kill It  that she rightfully landed on that spot. Along the way, there is much corruption within the legal firms and the comp...
