Random Drop Rant: Voice Season 2 VS. Strangers Season 2 First Impressions

Image
Netflix had premiered Voice Season 2 which has a nearly, entirely new cast. The second season has Lee Ha Na resuming her role as the team leader Kang Kwon Joo. Season 1 ended with the self-righteous criminal's rather well-deserved brutal death. However, one of the characters Moo Jin Hyuk takes leave to take care of his ailing son. Just because the first mission is over doesn't mean the second one isn't. A new plot brews in after some time when a new criminal emerges with a couple of new cases. A former detective named Dong Kang Woo (who was possibly wrongly framed for murder) appears and challenges the team. What scares me is that the new mystery villain has a fetish for cutting off human body parts. Fortunately, a lot of this cutting is done off-screen since I usually can't handle such scenes even when I'm seldom tempted to mutilate someone. This new villain seems to be an upgrade of the Darkman villain Durant (who ends up being more popular than Strack) in having...

I've Just Finished Watching "Voice" Season 1

Image
Well, it's time to really give my final thoughts on Voice right? OCN drama is what I'd call pretty much "Viewer's discretion is advised." The blood is more realistic than what Tokusatsu could do because one's a child show and this isn't. The show has a lot of realism for a drama that's fictitious.  The show-stealer has to be Kim Jae Wook in his role as a serial killer. I do admire the protagonists (Jang Hyuk and Lee Hana) but it seems that Kim Jae Wook she show sealer. He gives a sinister smile and you're going to get chills down your spine. The character CEO Mo Tae Gu is really cold, sadistic, and self-righteous. He appears in a hood and isn't discovered immediately. What I really love about having Taegu is that he's a villain you love to hate. He was truly a force to reckon with how he pretends to be a good man - giving the show a real villain to hate yet you want him saved for last. He also has the help of Commissioner Gu and Prosecuto...

Attempted Watch: OCN's "Voice" Crime Drama

Image
Dramabeans I remembered watching a couple of OCN's crime drama namely Kill It followed up by Justice . Both series really dwell on criminal psychotic minds. Kill It deals with a bastard who sires illegitimate children only for them to be used in organ trafficking. Justice deals with a sick manchild of a businessman who rapes women for fun and bribes the authorities. Now, I've heard that this is OCN's darkest drama which probably tries to do everything bloodier than usual. I think neither Yasuko Kobayashi nor Toshiki Inoue could be able to sit through this one! It's a crime procedural drama so just expect some gore. I was thinking of the limits I could tolerate blood. I was able to sit through Naked Weapon and So Close from Hong Kong. Both movies were obviously not for children. Maybe the only reason why I was able to sit through the bloody gore of Conan the Barbarian (1982) was that the blood was so obviously fake. However, I still couldn't sit through that sick...
