Kamen Rider Geats has come to an end. After some irregular watches, I've reached the end and I'm going to say it's really in the watchable mess category. Maybe, it's best to say So Bad It's Good or maybe not. Maybe, it's not that big of a mess. I think it reminds me of Kamen Rider Saber as a watchable mess. Other Toku shows by Toei that I enjoyed in spite of being messy are Kamen Rider BLACK RX (which IMHO was a Necessary Failure), B-Fighter Kabuto (which only becomes watchable because Big Bad Beetleborgs and Beetleborgs Metallix are MUCH WORSE), Kamen Rider Kiva (which is considered Toshiki Inoue's lowest point), and maybe I can also include Ressha Sentai ToQGer (which got an award on Railroad Day to help get it vindicated).   I guess it's a long time no reaction to Kamen Rider Geats . As said, I'm having irregular watches these days and blogging is just a sideline. After watching more episodes of Geats - I think the whole thing is more than just that wish. I think Geats is already trying to focus on the theme of FAMILY. Ace was looking for his mother. Keiwa wants to save his family. Later, Neon ends up realizing that she was just a Replacement Goldfish for the real daughter that died in the kidnapping. Neon was simply supernaturally created to replace the dead daughter (Akari) by the previous Goddess of Creation. The Kurama couple are faced with a crisis. What if it's too late to reconcile with a woman they raised as a daughter? Would it be too late to reconcile not especially with how unreasonable they've been? I think both Papa Kurama and Mama Kurama had been traumatized. They don't want to lose Neon like they lost Akari. However, their overprotectiveness would soon make them lose a ...

I've been having irregular watches due to real life issues. Righ tnow, it's time to give my thoughts on Kamen Rider Revice in 30 episodes. There have been ups and downs as the series went. It premiered last year on September 4, 2022. 2022 was also the 20th anniversary of the controversial Kamen Rider Ryuki - a series that I believe was hit by Executive Meddling. The series was obviously meant to kill everyone. The Wish plot was been revived in the form of the Desire Grand Prix. I'd say that there are some areas Ryuki is better but all that got flushed out by Executive Meddling. I dare say because I doubt it neither Yasuko Kobayashi nor Toshiki Inoue would even want that Reset Button! I heard the series was partly based on Squid Game - a Korean drama series that I didn't ride the hype on. I guess I hated how annoying the characters in Squid Game were because of their poor financial habits. Here, the participants of the Grand Desire Prix are all having that one wish grant...

Kamen Rider has been no stranger to anti-heroes, especially during the Heisei era. Having watched the entirety of Heisei era Kamen Rider entries - I could really say that the Heisei era has bee more daring than what the late Shotaro Ishinomori started. I practically ended up thinking of how someone back then which the website Classic Henshin screwed up and decided to dedicate the page to the 15 Kamen Riders, saying that the shows deviated from Ishinomori's "original vision". Screw that really! I've watched the Heisei era Kamen Riders (and now, with the Reiwa era) to say that anti-heroes have been a good addition. They've added what I'd call some conflict whether it'd be Hojo Toru from Kamen Rider Agito or Renn Kiriyama from Kamen Rider Ryuki . Now, we have Michinaga Azuma who's practically a Gai Yuki or Masumi Inou. Though, we don't have Toshiki Inoue here because he's busy with Avatar Sentai Donbrothers. Kamen Rider Geats is pretty much like a Squid Game except it's got Kamen Rider Ryuki mixed into it. People by now know that I've had issues with Ryuki such as the bummer ending (which was clearly EXECUTIVE MEDDLING as neither Yasuko Kobayashi nor Toshiki Inoue would want it). Still, I felt Ryuki was that brave experiment but it spiraled out of control. Ryuki also introduced us to the movie-only what-if Kamen Rider named Miho Kirishima (acted by Natsuki Kato who also appeared in Hana Yori Dango ). The trend of female secondary Kamen Riders has been a good innovation. Except, I feel that a lead female Kamen Rider may not be so soon unless they want to create a spin-off for women. In this case, we have Neon Kumara who's a daughter of a rich family. I didn't want to write episode reviews until this one struck my cord. It had me thinking of Gougou Sentai Boukenger with one character - SAKURA NISHIHORI. Sakura revealed she was the only daughter of a rich family. Yeah, pretty ...

Kamen Rider Revice hasn't been on a very good note IMHO. It's not that it's bad - just tolerable in the long run. I don't find Revice horrid but I felt the finale was quite a stretched out, "Where are they now?" instead of a real finale. I decided to watch the first episode in order to give my first impression. The Battle Royale plot returns which is almost similar to that of Kamen Rider Ryuki and Kamen Rider Blade . Granted, it's been 20 years since Ryuki premiered (and I remembered it was aired on ABiaS-CBN back then). It's too early to judge the show by just one episode. The way the opening took place almost reminds me of  Kamen Rider Drive . Nene Shida (Kohaku Shida's OLDER SISTER) acts as Sara Sakurai. Well, no surprise that Kamen Rider Revice already wrapped up its filming. How it ends, I'll still have to sit back, wait, and maybe I'll give my final review. I decided to wait until the cast reveal. Now, thanks to fellow blogger, Ukiyaseed, I decided to get the information from him in regards to the plot and staff as well as the cast. Like many Kamen Rider series after its initial reboot, Kamen Rider Kuuga , the trend has been to have multiple Kamen Riders, both good and evil. Well, didn't we also see multiple Kamen Riders from older shows like The First Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider V3 ?
