Zhen Xiu Zhen's Tonight Leave a Little Love to Me

Image
Well here's a clip of Zhen Xiu Zhen's "Tonight Leave a Little Love to Me".  I am not familiar with it entirely but I believe this is one of my late paternal grandmother's soap operas that she would watch before when I was still little.  Okay I was too young to remember the plots but I think it would be a promising watch to see this old series as well.  After all, Zhen Xiu Zhen is a big influence to Taiwan drama even today when she plays the part a good or a bad parent.  If her performance in Meteor Garden was that good, I guess she's just a natural talent.

My Thoughts on Mei Zuo and Xiao Qiao's Pairing in Meteor Garden II

Image
Well I did feel pretty mixed about Pace Wu's arrival.  I'll admit Pace Wu's acting is really below par and it looks like she's just a pretty face compared to Esther Liu (who she later worked with in "The Concerto") but at least she didn't overact or piss me of.  Now where was I?  Ah yes the chemistry of Mei Zuo and Xiao Qiao.  At first it felt just "pretty random" because Mei Zuo's mom wanted to matchmake them out of "prestige issues" which I felt while he looked "lucky" to us to have such a gorgeous fiance, he was feeling out of pace with himself because it was just parents' wishes.  However what I find pretty funny is that Xiao Qiao had a real longtime crush on him after all.  Hee hee- talk about getting your childhood wish granted.  Other than that, I thought this was pretty forced because Winnie Qian left the set (thus forcing the writers to break up Lei and Qing) and create another couple.  As for me though, Pac...

Esther Liu Doing Liu Xue Hua Type Roles?

Image
I honestly feel like Esther Liu has been doing some Liu Xue Hua roles after Westside Story. Here's where I think where she does those Liu Xue Hua type roles which I think is coming out naturally. She starred in Chinese Paladin as Ah Nu where her adventures in Wuxia romance begins. Liu Xue Hua had that kind of charming smile in the movies. In Green Forest, here's one photo with the stare to remember- one that reminds me of Liu Xue Hua's stares in the past. In fact, I kind of feel she's ready for it. Although she wasn't in very dramatic scenarios, this picture kind of makes me feel like she's ready to play those teary eyed scenes. Next guy? I seem to vote for Vic Zhou! She also has that rather smart look and a stare to tell you she's not just a pretty face. And her part was well played- she showed flexibility whenever needed.

Dolphin Bay's Sad Song

Image
Well I just got to admit that with Dolphin Bay, I really was on the losing side (siding with Xiao Gang) and during that night of the concert, proved to be when my bet was already slipping into oblivion.  Well losing the bet meant this- wah I lost.  Well yet in the end, the song had a nice melody or to at least, my character lost gracefully.  All I could say when Xiao Gang looked at Tian Bian for the last time, I felt the same way he did with some girl.  But still... this song is still nice.

Vic Zhou Doing Sun Xiang Zhong's Type of Roles

Image
I'm not a bit surprised about Vic Zhou being cast into the rather intense story of "Last Night of Madame Chin", which I think could be a remake of old Chinese dramas my late grandma watched when I was little. With the setting being in 1930s British China, the more I feel like Vic Zhou has "Chin Han" roles.  The Taiwanese actor "Chin Han" or Sun Xiao Zhong. The new image of Vic Zhou as a drama star you can take seriously. I can see him able to do Chin Han's parts in a different way. Flashing as a 1930s gentleman, it kind of reminds me of Chin Han in older films and series. I honestly think Vic Zhou is really able to be "Chin Han" in this role with Fan Bing Bing. I can see the old Chin Han and Liu Xue Hua scripts again in these scenes. The dance scene is kind of really old but classic. Chin Han was famous for ballroom too. Why do I imagine I'm watching "Courtyard" when I see this "wedding scene" he has wit...

Vic Zhou and Michelle Chen's Chemistry in "Wish to See You Again"

Image
The thing is I always felt like that when I was seeing "Wish to See You Again" I was just thankful that Michelle Chen was able to blend in well with the show even if I don't find her attractive (but she's kind of cute). Why? She manages to actually get the charm out of Vic Zhou. Everything just came out naturally with the two of them, one between a weirdo writer and the other your girl next door type who's lucky to find her lover. So I kind of thought that ever since disc 1, the two got me hooked because the story was kind of interesting especially with the twists and turns and how their two characters slowly developed their relationship and the two deny their feelings for some time until they can't hold it much longer. And of course, their characters weren't what you'd expect to come out together, that is until a serious misadventure with an annoying child brought them together. Michelle Chen obviously displayed natural acting compared to Vivian ...

Vic Zhou in His Role in Chinese Soaps

Image
If I can say, I remembered some time in my life as a Chinese series fan that he started out as an underrated actor. Why? Back then, he didn't display much of his hidden talent. So his characters in Meteor Garden and Poor Prince fits him well. However given a more serious role in Love Storm but it was just a flop. It was because of that he was called "questionable talent" and in God Mars, well he was just okay. However there was always room for improvement and that he really could act. So I did spit at him after watching Love Storm due to his poor performance and received similar opinion from others that he was only good for comic relief, however in Silence where it was his first serious moment (non-comedic) he had shown much hidden talent which wasn't manifested early in show business. Even Delicious Relationships showed he had improved. Tea Fight was a great improvement from Linger. Linger well he was still practicing to be better. In Tea Fight, he was no longer...
