"Blossoming Love" As An Interesting Battle Against Fate For Several Lifetimes, Across 10,000 Years

It's time for another random review. This time, I finished the Xianxia series, Blossoming Love. The Chinese title is 千朵桃花一世开 — (Qiān duǒ táohuā yīshì kāi) meaning A Thousand Peach Blossoms Bloom in a Lifetime.  In this case, I was kind of stressed so I ended up watching a show for the eye candy. Yes, Sun Zhenni is really super pretty in this one. The last time I saw Zhenni was in the series was in Love and Redemption as a gumiho, and she's really pretty. I ended up watching a Xianxia TV series that had a complicated plot about lovers caught in several cycles of reincarnation over 10,000 YEARS. Yes, talk about how much more complicated an Xianxia is compared to a Wuxia in terms of time jumps

The story of the two lovers is complicated by the passage of 10,000 years and their immortality. The main character is Xie Xuechan (acted by Vin Zhang), who used to be Emperor Zhao Ming. Xuechan is the leader of the Immortal Alliance. Mu Xianling (Zhenni) is the emperor's love from the previous life and becomes the "Holy Maiden" of the Dark Domain. IMHO Xianling as the leading lady is sassy, flirtatious, and unashamed more often than not. In short,

This is where it becomes difficult to review the series WITHOUT spoilers. There's a lot of past lives revisited within the series. Blink, and you'll miss. The conflict with Fate (actually a person, but Spoiler Territory), the Dark Clan (where Xianling is from), and Sang Qi requires extra attention. I confess it's been hard to pay attention whenever Xianling is there. Fortunately, one interesting plot after the other overshadows Xialing's beauty. Yes, I eventually got into the plot despite Xianling's beauty being a real distraction. Xianling isn't a great character for her appearance but for what she does.

The more I watch it, the more I realize that getting into Spoiler Territory is hard. It gets me hooked with the mysteries unwrapped throughout the series. Xianling starts to become less of eye candy and more of plot material as the show progresses. The plots behind the painful reincarnations can become more intense so be forewarned.
