K-Drama "Doubt" Talks About The Possibility Of Such A Close Traitor

Crime drama can be that complex. I'd admit that my squeamish side entered as the show ended yesterday. I'd avoid writing spoilers unless I specify in the title otherwise. Talking about crime drama without inciting spoilers is difficult or even impossible.

Jang Tae-Soo (Han Suk-Kyu) is a legendary criminal profiler Korea. He was one of the first in his field and paved the way for criminal behavior analyst in the country. He has gained the absolute respect and trust within the police organization. At home, he is a single parent and raises his daughter Jang Ha-Bin (Chae Won-Bin) by himself. Jang Tae-Soo works on a murder case and realizes that his daughter is involved in the case. The discovery shakes everything in his professional beliefs and his relationship with his daughter. To protect his daughter, Jang Tae-Soo struggles to reveal the truth.

It's difficult to handle a task when one's child might be involved in a crime. A single-parent household and strains between father and daughter. Did the teenage daughter really do the murder or did she not? Not everything is in black and white either. Criminal investigation is no easy task. The demand for evidence is there. Emotions have to be kept in check especially when loved ones are involved. Each and every episode builds up the suspenseful mysteries. There's much strain between father and daughter. Did Tae Soo's wife really end her life and if so, what was the reason?

The show's 10-episode run may have limited possible explorations. I feel some issues could've used at least five more episodes. The investigation of an unsolved crime isn't an easy thing. However, it does manage to still help keep viewers hooked or explain the important details.
