Rugal's Ongoing Plot Point: Internal Struggle Within Argos

KPop-Hit
Every good action or legal drama has got to have a villain who knows how to torture the heroes, right? In real life, you would probably facedesk if criminals were halted over a very stupid mistake rather than divine retribution (such as falling for a subtle buy-bust operation) moving its course. In the case of Rugal - one can consider the villain Hwang Duk Gu (delightfully portrayed by Park Sung Woong) is no pushover. He has his ambitions to take over the criminal group Argos and will stop at NOTHING to get what he wants. Choi Ye Won (Han Ji Wan) was previously married to Chairman Park but didn't get to consummate her rights. Quite a relief actually considering that Ye Won is young enough to be Chairman Park's daughter.

What makes the main villain Duk Gu delightfully evil? It's that he really knows how to hide his footprints that only divine intervention could get him. Duk Gu arranges the death of his boss since he wants to take over Argos. He wears gloves to make sure his fingerprints can't be traced and blackmails Ye Won to pull the trigger. Ye Won who probably seduced Chairman Park for power now must face off with Deuk goo. Ye Won is probably just a spoiled social climber which doesn't make her much of a threat as Duk Gu. Duk Gu's movements feel like divine retribution moving through him (to kill Chairman Park and put Ye Won in a pickle) and eventually move against him when the time is right.

One of the recent plots is the main protagonist Ki Bum is hired by Ye Won. Her purpose is to protect herself from Duk Gu. I think Ye Won herself is probably aware that her fighting prowess is no match for a highly experienced crimelord. Ki Bum is a police officer while Ye Won is some spoiled gold digger. What's the latest development? I dunno if Ye Won is a good villain or not compared to the mighty Duk Gu.

What's more interesting is Tae Woong's past now has a little bit more revelation. Tae Woong is revealed to be a former Argos soldier who lost his arm. Now, I'm getting a bit of coincidence here. If you've at least tried giving Kamen Rider V3 a shot then notice that one of the characters there was a defector named Yuji Joji or Riderman. Yuji lost his arm being soaked in acid after being framed. Tae Woong lost his arm. What makes both Yuji and Tae Woong similar is that they're both defectors who lost their arms and gained a cyborg arm in return. Hopefully, Tae Woong's dark past will be an interesting factor since he's the team captain of Rugal.

This week also features the antagonist Duk Gu getting shot with poisoned darts. However, a villain like him is something I'd say he won't die that easily. The preview shows him somehow still alive. I think Duk Gu will pull through the poison's effects to menace our characters. Hopefully, he won't get what he deserves until the final episode!
