Vagabond 13: Will Justice Be Served?

There's only one Vagabond episode this week since South Korea is having the baseball coverage. I can't be too certain about next week but one thing is certain - we only have three more episodes to go. Things are getting intense as John & Mark is already getting its just desserts. But good villains don't go down easily now, do they? This week's episode features some interesting developments.

The trial is finally here and John & Mark may get roasted soon. Greedy Sang Mi who was promised tons of money by John & Mark gets her statement countered by her estranged husband Woo Gi. Well, I do have to admit that Woo Gi ends up spilling the beans which slowly incriminates John & Mark. I really love how this scene starts to roast the villains slowly but surely. There's much evidence of the wrongdoings of John & Mark. However, the villains do have a backup plan where they simply want to blame it on the late Michael. Michael was shot to silence him. Jessica is one scheming bitch that makes her indeed a worthy villain.

There's also the shock value that the villains find out that Director Kang is still alive. Personally, I wish Chief Min was taken care of by Lily in this episode. Taken care of as in shot by Lily. If I were a villain, I'd probably have disposed of Chief Min earlier since I've got agents like Shadow working for me. I love how these events unfold with Chief Min being unable to believe that his nemesis Director Kang is very much alive. Director Kang shows some real righteous anger but goes berserk in the process. Tae Woong is very professional to stop Director Kang from further injuring Chief Min.

Meanwhile, I find it baffling how Hae Ri was shot but she doesn't notice she's bleeding right there and then. Hae Ri is taken to the hospital due to the bullet wound inflicted by Lily. What infuriates me though is that why wasn't Park Ah In made a direct foil to Suzy Bae? In Descendants of the Sun, she was a direct foil to Song Hye Kyo as an arrogant doctor. The hospital scene has Hae Ri operated and regaining consciousness. There's some seemingly romantic scenes but it doesn't seem Dal Gun is all that romantically interested. He's just acting like a concerned friend in spite of some crazy interactions the two had. Also, I feel Lily is wasted because she could've entered as a doctor AND attempt to kill Hae Ri and Dal Gun herself. For me, that's pretty much a wasted opportunity! I guess Jessica ain't paying Hae Ri that much or is it just some missed opportunity by the writers?

It's an interesting development to see the Blue House finally take action. I don't think the president himself even knew John & Mark was a sleazy company. No one can suspect John & Mark of it. A presidential order has two officials sacked namely Director An and Shadow. Shadow is sacked and he attempts to commit suicide via charcoal. I really thought he died but he was later found to be still alive. Yup, there's some purpose to why Shadow is still alive. He tries to escape wrath but somehow Hell ain't ready to accept his dark soul yet. Dal Gun's prayers to God in the chapel may be slowly answered but why wait until this episode to pray? People join him in prayer while Hae Ri recovers. They better do a lot more while they do their job in bringing the criminals to justice! Then again, it's possible Dal Gun has done prayers to God off-screen but it's just now we see him doing it! Showing off an on-screen prayer in any South Korean series (nope, never mind North Korea) means they know the battle will be that bad!

John & Mark is slowly crumbling. I have to admit that Moon Jeung Hee makes the dastardly villain Jessica seem very real. Jessica herself plays her script and pretends to be still concerned but her actions are leaked. I wonder who leaked her seduction and manipulation videos? Again, I'd like to credit it to divine intervention one way or another. Her actions of manipulating the Secretary of Defense and his men are finally leaked. Jessica is arrested but will everything be okay. Not just yet.

You'll see Jessica is not easily planted behind bars. She becomes a new inmate and Sang Mi has her inmates beat her up. But there's one thing that makes Jessica a badass villain. She's not solely reliant on her henchmen. She can freaking fight. For Toku fans, her Japanese lookalike Atsuko Takahata was also able to show physical prowess in Juspion as Witch Gilza or Maribaron in Black RX . I love how Jessica manages to overpower Sang Mi. Sang Mi who wanted revenge on Jessica now gets beaten. Jessica still apparently has hidden accounts since she gives a bank account to Lily. Also, it turns out that Jerome is still very much alive. Right now, I even think Jessica may escape jail and die a very brutal death for the finale. Knowing her, she's not going to be that easy to pin down. She's still in jail to be put under a fair trial since most of her crimes aren't uncovered yet.

Meanwhile, there's an interesting note that Sang Mi gets from her estranged husband Woo Gi. It says to beware of the assassin. Was Woo Gi referring to Lily? Lily is probably assigned to murder both Woo Gi and Sang Mi. What if she was that assassin with a tattoo and the one who killed Michael. Granted, Lily was last seen doing sexual favors for a horny old man before finishing the latter off. Then again I can't discount Mikey to be Michael's killer. Why does Director Kang want to keep Mikey out of Vagabond? Hopefully, it's not Hae Ri unless she was under mind control drugs - something that could work if it's not last minute! Sang Mi underestimated Jessica's villainy and cunning. As much as I want to slap Jessica but she has her loyal connections. Killing her may not be the best resolve just yet. Think of it that John & Mark is this show's version of the Super Science Network from Janperson. I hope she gets a satisfying demise since she's one badass villain.

Three more episodes to go! But I wonder how will everything be connected the beginning scene where Dal Gun is assigned to kill Hae Ri? Right now, I just have my knees shaking thinking about that too!

"Light The Night's" Finale (Spoilers Ahead)

SpikyTV I guess the series just kept us guessing, right? I finally got the chance to finish it after some busy nights. I was right that the killer was HANA (Esther Liu) BUT there's a twist - it was more of voluntary manslaughter than murder. Manslaughter is when one kills out of the heat of passion and that's what Hana did twice in the story. Hana had one against a client who used her and another against Sue after some unfortunate insanity attack. Hana ends up planning to hand herself over but her lover commits murder (towards a character named Chiang An) to protect her.  The whole psychological thriller for me just didn't match up to what I wanted. I guess I was too used to how Victim's Game rolled out. I was expecting some real murder scheme. Instead, it was the anti-climatic manslaughter where Hana decides to hand herself to the authorities after what she did. I really still think that the finale wasn't worth too much of the wait. I was expecting something gran

I Just Finished "My Golden Life"

I finally finished My Golden Life which I was hesitant to watch. 52 one-hour long episodes? I was thinking it was easier to watch the Wuxia series that had 40+ minutes per episode such as Princess Weiyang which was quite long. A lot of episodes of My Golden Life would have a few minutes more depending on the coverage of the episode. So, I'm done and I never thought I'd actually finish it since I'm way too used to short K-Dramas. This one was rather long but it was rather entertaining in many ways. I was thinking about how Shin Hye Sun actually did well with on-screen partner Park Si Hoo. Sometimes, I'd like to joke about how they had a chemistry that looked good and felt good. Looked good? Both aren't attractive and I often joke how Hye Sun's face feels melted or how she was rightfully matched with Lee Jong Suk in Hymn of Death . Hye Sun isn't pretty but she really makes up with her good acting and likability. The same goes for Si Hoo with how he acts out hi

Just Finished "My Glamorous Imperial Concubine" (Some Spoilers)

This is another Wuxia series finished. I was having some expectations broken. The show can be full of spoilers when discussed even further. In fact, some characters are walking spoilers. If you're not ready to be spoiled - DON'T READ. If not, you can read further. I feel the show had some plot twists and turns. Besides, maybe some of the villains in this show weren't as evil as you think.  Emperor Liancheng is an antagonist but dies before the show can end. Liancheng may have some idiotic obsession with Ma Fuya. It becomes even worse when Liancheng's younger sister Liansi and his younger brother Lianxi get involved. Liansi develops a crush on Meng Qiyou and even gets pregnant in the process. It seems that Ma Fuya was pregnant with Liancheng's baby but ends up in Qiyou's household after Liancheng dies. Liancheng dies doing a selfless act to save Ma Fuya. The obsessive empress Ma Xiangyun commits suicide to kill Emperor Liancheng. Emperor Liancheng's quite a
