A Rather Complicated, Fruity Time Paradox

Well pardon if I haven't been posting much here considering that I'm actually getting stuck with other stuff -- especially real life! Quality should be the measure and not so much how many posts I post, right? Anyway, here's the Kamen Rider Gaim arc and I'm feeling a weird time paradox hence the title of a complicated, fruity time paradox.

The beginning starts with a convoluted case of meeting your past self -- except it's just three days apart. We see the Kota after the finale of Kamen Rider Gaim talking with Souta. He says that a good king doesn't do the work for all his subjects and that the latter need to do their part. The whole problem of the time paradox happens that there could be a major time decision when Souta (three days later) and the current Souta end up running into each other at the end of part one!

The current corruption happens when Asura a member of Team Baron becomes Another Gaim. He wasn't part of the original Gaim timeline but due to Schwartz's manipulation -- Asura becomes Another Gaim. The situation has many members of the original Team Baron (including Kaito) getting banished into Helheim. Kaito gets stuck with Geiz and both of them have somewhat similar roles and goals. Do you remember when Kaito was serving as a secondary protagonist (and somewhat antagonist) in Gaim? Kaito wanted to simply help the weak. Geiz's aims is to finally prevent Souta from becoming Demon King Zi-O one way or another.

The result of history changing was that not only is Asura the Head of Team Baron -- it also results to Kota never ascending to godhood. Instead, the Kota that never became Gaim is a fruit vendor. Makes sense, right? Schwartz also shows how cruel he can get together and somehow Woz is still determined to make sure that Demon King Zi-O is born. Kaito lectures Geiz about not hesitating which results to the latter's escape from Helheim. The defeat of Another Gaim results to the original members of Team Baron returning. Oh, I just love how Kaito banishes Asura -- it shows that true strength doesn't solely rely on power-ups but from within!

So I was thinking about how this episode feels somewhat convoluted. I admit, I enjoyed the OOO Arc but this arc is somewhat a case of time twists. I even want to think about it in more than one level of the Kyurangers traveling in time to attempt to destroy Don Armage in the past. Unfortunately, I don't think writer Nobuhiro Mouri got it that well this time.

Next week, it should be a complex case or is it? Takeru Tenkuji is returning and so is Tsukasa Kadoya! So what is Kamen Rider Decade going to do in the next arc? It almost reminds me of the strange mix of Fourze x Faiz. Now it's Decade and Ghost for next week!

  1. Same here. While I was glad to see the main actors reprise their roles, the plot of this arc really made my head scratch. The kota from three days in the future remained a God while present day kota lost his kamen rider power.
This had me mentally say HOW DID THAT HAPPENED?! since history was altered due to the birth of Kaijin Gaim.
As Lots lost Gaim's power, then the golden fruit should also faded.
It seems that Multiple has screwed up on this one, especially the ending as God-Kota seemingly vanished after Kaijin Gaim is defeated.
Speaking of Kaijin Gaim, I think it would be better that instead of Asura, the villain should be the character from Gaim Gaiden, who portrayed Black Baron.
Disappointments abound, for the following reasons:
    1) Peko and Zack are not around
    2) the Kureshima bros are also absent (Takatora and Mitsuzane)
    3) Kota and Kaito never transformed, just like in the 555 arc.
The next arc is coming next, with Kadoya at least transforming, though I wonder about Takeru.
Either way, Movie War 2018 is coming, and with new riders appearing soon, at least that would keep me tuned in while I'm not keeping my hopes up that the main actors of kabuto, hibiki, kuuga, ryuki and agito would return...
