My Thoughts On "While You Were Sleeping" Episodes 9-10
Thanks to Drama Beans for providing the images I make for my weekly reviews.
Episodes 9-10 shows a bit of a struggle of what it means to know the future. We also discover that there's always you know the future but you can't change it. I want to drag Mirai Sentai Timeranger's phrase, "If you can't change the future then try to fight for your tomorrow." The burden of having that ability to see the future hits those who possess it.
This should be impressive as Hong Joo has an extraordinary intelligence that would make her sound stupid to average people. She discovers something fishy about Chicken Oppa. He was feeding his pet cats though they die for some unknown reason later in this episode. Is it me or is Hong Joo just too feisty at times?
Perhaps my complaints could be related to this one. The episode somewhat stalls the development of the case between Yoo-BUMMER and Jae-Chan. I mean, we saw Yoo-BUM act all mean in the last episode. This episode, all that antagonistic side is momentarily shelved. I find that to be a weakness for this episode.
Other than that, there's this plot related to Chicken Oppa. We later see a scene where Chicken Oppa's tears. He confessed he needs no autopsy and the body is cremated. Here's where things get suspicious...

As pointed by Drama Beans, here's what's written that should be disturbing:
Jae-chan narrates that there comes a moment when you can see the line between a mirror and a mask, as we watch Chicken Oppa and his sister mourn their brother’s death. They cry as he’s cremated, but then on close observation, Chicken Oppa is laughing through his tears.
That should be disturbing. I suspect Chicken Oppa is up to something diabolical. Or maybe Yoo-BUMMER is also involved. I can't really tell. I hope the next episode has Yoo-BUMMER moving the plot forward. He's such a dastardly villain it's a waste not to stall the plot.
The show also explores the relationship between mother and daughter. Hong Joo wants to return to her job as a reporter. Yet she sees herself dead in it. Is she trying to challenge fate or what? I just want to play the Lords theme in Kamen Rider Agito. Is she trying to give the fate of humanity a Rider Kick or in this case, a Taekwando kick? Let's just wait and find out.
