The Arrival Of Kamen Rider Cronos

Kamen Rider EX-AID's conflict is already getting out of hand isn't it? Well that's how things should before the conflict is resolved at the end of the series. What's predictable (or not) is that Masamune Dan (Kuroto Dan's father) is also a villain. So what's his role? He's the legendary Kamen Rider Cronus and I'm impressed by the darkness effects. He doesn't just show up for score but he shows everyone how badass he can get.

This new Kamen Rider has the power to control time. This reminds me of the late arrival of Kamen Rider Odin in Ryuki. As always, that series left a bad taste in my mouth no thanks to executives who forced in the reset button. Come on, I'd probably have liked Ryuki if everybody STAYED DEAD. Kamen Rider Odin showed time control. Hopefully, Cronos will be better written than Odin was. Odin was a cool concept but he wasn't well utilized in Ryuki. Odin just felt so empty and his identity was never revealed.

It'd be interesting to see a father/son conflict in Kamen Rider EX-AID. This seems to be a competition between father/son on who's going to mwahahahahaha rule over the world. I'm reminded of Kazuya's and Heihachi's father vs. son conflict in Tekken. Kazuya overthrew his father in the first tournament. Heihachi sprang back and took control of the Mishima Zaibatsu in the second tournament. Kuroto framed up his own father to take over Gemn Corporation. Now Masumune returns to take back his company.

Speaking of Cronus, I guess it's intentional that the new villain is named as such. Cronus in Greek mythology was overthrown by his own children. Zeus his youngest son arose and led the final battle which destroyed the age of the Titans. I can't wait to see how this father/son conflict will turn out since both of them are just as cold-blooded as each other. On the other hand, I have a hunch that maybe, just maybe Masaume may have also murdered his own father and now he fears his son will do the same.

What are your thoughts on this new villain?
