Some Thoughts on Forbidden Love's Romance

Image
For Forbidden Love, it talks about the story of the Nine-Tailed Fox clan who are actually monsters who can disguise as humans and there's Shi Yeon who despite being a nine-tailed fox, she despises the activities of eating human flesh and all that.  Shi Yeon works as an employee in a history museum by day while she is a monster at night in getting internal organs of humans which the clan feeds on.  Then she falls in love with Kang Min Hoo who has been assigned to track down the organ trafficking trade to feed these monsters.  What happens later is despite the fact that Kang Min Hoo discovers that his girlfriend Shi Yeon was actually a monster, he still loves her.  Of course, it was expected to have a bad ending due to the title beign "Forbidden Love".

Movie Review: The Vampire Effect

Image
If there's any vampire movie I'd say is chock full of hyper action, it's this movie called "The Vampire Effect" which stars Ekin Cheng (as the vampire hunter Reeve), Edison Chen (who is a harmless vampire who can't suck blood, poor fella, named Kazaf), Gillian Chung (as Gypsy, Reeve's new partner after his first one dies as shown in the opening) and Charlene Choi (as Helen the shrill character).  I got to admit for a horror film, it wasn't THAT scary as all the martial arts was there and it certainly showed how a remake of Blade can be done.  So now I'll talk about how nice this film is and it's nice to have Jacky Chan in a cameo.   So what's the real deal behind this?  An evil vampire named Duke Dekotes (played by Swiss martial artist Mickey Hardt, who to my delight trained with Donnie Yen) has been getting the royal blood of the royal vampires, Kazaf being the last he'll never need to open the "Day for Night" which wil...

Takeru Sato in the Rurouni Kenshin Film

Image
While I'm slightly disappointed that Tori Matsuzaka isn't the one acting as Kenshin Himura for the live Rurouni Kenshin film, however it's still a delight to see Takeru Sato do the role as he did his role in Kamen Rider Den-O as the main character pretty well. I wonder if Yasuko Kobayashi herself could do a live series of Rurouni Kenshin?  Hopefully she will while I hope she recovers from her burnout. My closing thoughts maybe it's pretty much pun intended that he got chosen to be Kenshin... maybe while they might have not been able to get Tori Matsuzaka for the role, they got him maybe to pay tribute to Tori Matsuzaka's role as Shinken Red who was also named Takeru.  Then again, Takeru was also the name of Red Mask.  LOL!

Zhen Xiu Zhen's Tonight Leave a Little Love to Me

Image
Well here's a clip of Zhen Xiu Zhen's "Tonight Leave a Little Love to Me".  I am not familiar with it entirely but I believe this is one of my late paternal grandmother's soap operas that she would watch before when I was still little.  Okay I was too young to remember the plots but I think it would be a promising watch to see this old series as well.  After all, Zhen Xiu Zhen is a big influence to Taiwan drama even today when she plays the part a good or a bad parent.  If her performance in Meteor Garden was that good, I guess she's just a natural talent.

My Thoughts on Mei Zuo and Xiao Qiao's Pairing in Meteor Garden II

Image
Well I did feel pretty mixed about Pace Wu's arrival.  I'll admit Pace Wu's acting is really below par and it looks like she's just a pretty face compared to Esther Liu (who she later worked with in "The Concerto") but at least she didn't overact or piss me of.  Now where was I?  Ah yes the chemistry of Mei Zuo and Xiao Qiao.  At first it felt just "pretty random" because Mei Zuo's mom wanted to matchmake them out of "prestige issues" which I felt while he looked "lucky" to us to have such a gorgeous fiance, he was feeling out of pace with himself because it was just parents' wishes.  However what I find pretty funny is that Xiao Qiao had a real longtime crush on him after all.  Hee hee- talk about getting your childhood wish granted.  Other than that, I thought this was pretty forced because Winnie Qian left the set (thus forcing the writers to break up Lei and Qing) and create another couple.  As for me though, Pac...
