Did Shin Hye Sun Request To Be Written Off In The "Stranger" K-Drama?

DRAMA LAND REVIEWS!!: STRANGER K-DRAMA REVIEW!
I was thinking about Shin Hye Sun and how much she's a versatile actress. Not pretty? So what! What she lacks in appearance can be forgotten because of her hard work and talent. I exclaimed at how "ugly" she is but I get won over by her performance and maybe her brain way too many times. She took part as a sideline character in the K-Drama Stranger which she was a tragic character. Honestly, she nearly embodied my ideal bride and spoilers - she doesn't make it! Her character Eun Soo is a prosecutor who's held a long grudge against Chang Joon (played by villain actor Lee Kyoung Young who would later play Samael in Vagabond). She didn't do any action roles and it was in 2017 when she held this role.

What happened next seemed to be controversial. Her character Eun Soo is killed off at the end of episode 13. Boy, I did feel sorry for her parents for losing their only daughter and child. Just when she cleared out her father's name - the character Eun Woo is killed off. What's known is that Stranger had a second season. In 2017, Hye Sun would land her first leading role in My Golden Life which I wonder did she not like the more serious roles she was given? After that, she took more romantic roles and none of the detective stuff. I thought she could've made a good Seo Dan in Crash Landing on You because of her facial resemblance to Sarah Elago.

Since Stranger was going to have a second season then maybe they actually they may have negotiated with her to stay. Maybe, they wanted her character of Eun Soo to be carried over. Instead, she probably wasn't interested in being part of the second season. Probably, she found the script not too interesting. After several failed negotiations - she managed to finally decide on leaving the set. Did the offering by KBS2 offer her a better opportunity to grow? Was she suddenly interested in taking the lead role that she probably refused to be in the second season? I guess in that span of time - she finally had her honorable exit in episode 14 where the character Eun Soo is finally murdered.

I do feel it's a controversial move. Yet, it was probably because she wanted to try out whatever offer was given to her that year. Maybe, she did have the choice of staying in Strangers or finally auditioning for My Golden Life where she got her first big role. Regardless, she did a very professional thing by actually giving her all until her final appearance in Strangers.
